Meet Wittman Specialty Foods LLC

Jennie and Brian Wittman knew they had made the right decision when they bought the company that made their favorite condiment. After all, Nip 'N Tang® fruited horseradish had been a New England favorite for nearly two decades. Its ambassador of good taste, Joan Snyder of South Windsor, selected the Wittmans from among a number of potential buyers to pass the product baton to. It was time to take the product to the next level - national and beyond!

With samples still hot in their new jars, the Wittmans rushed to enter the Connecticut Food Association's Annual Specialty Food Competition where they were declared winners in the Outstanding Savory Condiment category. Five months into their venture the Wittman's newly packaged product was featured in a New York Times article written by world-renowned author, Florence Fabricant. "Move over pesto...," she insisted, and the delicious product flew off of shelves and new orders flooded in. Within days Nip 'N Tang
fruited horseradish was the top-selling gourmet food on amazon.com, with the company's three flavors holding first, second and third places for an entire week!

This year marks the Wittman's second year in the food business and the 20th anniversary of Nip 'N Tang fruited horseradish
. With new products on the horizon and an ever-increasing national presence there's no doubt that this family buisness will continue to cause a stir in the gourmet food industry.

Nip 'N Tang® fruited horseradish is now available in four flavors (apricot, blueberry, cranberry and pineapple) and may be purchased at nipntang.com. Click CTFoodFinder to view additional markets.
